Hong Kong’s Skyline
New York, Chicago, London, all major metropolitan cities that spring to mind when you think of iconic skyscraper silhouettes. Hong Kong also deserves to be a part of that list, making its mark with Hollywood glory in films like The Dark Knight. For a traveler looking to experience this in person, Hong Kong provides an abundance of photogenic lookout points to take in the view.
First up was The Peak (aka Victoria Peak), a residential area in the Southern hills. Accessible by tram, the village area and Peak Tower have some truly stunning views, especially at night.
Then, there is the Avenue of Stars, on the Kowloon side of Victoria Harbour, which pays tribute to the actors and entertainers originally from Hong Kong. By day, it was the perfect spot to relax at Starbucks and enjoy the view at a slower pace. Then again, at night, Hong Kong’s skyline lights up daily at 8pm, best viewed from this avenue along the water. Both locations were hard to leave, sucking you in and begging you to stay just a little longer, to take one more photograph to preserve the memory. Definitely a highlight among the many locations I’ve visited in Southeast Asia.
